Easy Christmas Ponche
A beloved holiday classic, Christmas punch—ponche navideño—is a fragrant, heart-warming drink made to bring family together. Simmered with seasonal fruits like orange, guava and apple, then infused with cinnamon and jamaica, this punch fills the home with the comforting aroma of Christmas. Served steaming hot on chilly December nights, it’s a symbol of celebration, tradition, and togetherness—often enjoyed during posadas and festive gatherings.

Fun facts:
The fruits are often eaten with a spoon – After drinking the punch, it’s common (and encouraged!) to scoop out the tender, simmered fruits at the bottom of the cup—it’s like a sweet holiday dessert.
Ponche tastes even better the next day – After resting overnight, the fruits and spices release more flavor, making reheated ponche richer and more aromatic than when first served.
Christmas Ponche step by step:
Step 1: Wash all the fruit. Chop the apples, slice the oranges, halve the plums, and cut the guava into chunks. Remove seeds if needed.

Step 2: Place all the ingredients in a large pot, add 5 Liters of water.

Step 3: Bring to a boil, then reduce to a gentle boil and cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the fruit is soft and the flavors are well blended.

Step 4: Serve hot, include the fruits, add pecans if desired.
